About the Financial Controller Role

Talents First - Executive Search & Selection is seeking a Financial Controller to join a leading industrial Joint Venture based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is a key finance role, working closely with the CFO and senior management team to oversee critical financial operations.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Financial Controller will be responsible for comprehensive financial reporting, controlling, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), governance, and overall business performance. This role is suited for an experienced finance professional who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with a commercial and business-oriented mindset, contributing directly to the strategic financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing and reporting processes.
• Ensure the accuracy of financial statements in compliance with IFRS and local regulatory requirements.
• Manage financial consolidation across relevant Joint Venture entities and business units.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Prepare detailed financial analysis, scenario planning, and management reports.
• Monitor key financial metrics including revenue, margins, operating costs, profitability, working capital, and cash flow.
• Partner with business leaders to understand performance drivers and identify improvement opportunities.
• Strengthen financial governance frameworks, internal controls, and risk management practices.
• Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings.
• Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions.
• Ensure the effective utilization of ERP and other financial systems.
• Drive continuous finance process improvement, automation, and standardization initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A professional qualification such as CPA, SOCPA, CMA, or equivalent is strongly preferred.
• Strong practical knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Solid experience of 5-10 years across financial controlling, accounting, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
• Demonstrated experience with financial consolidation and multi-entity reporting.
• Experience in a Joint Venture, multinational, industrial, manufacturing, or project-based environment is an advantage.

Essential Skills and Attributes

• Strong understanding of internal controls, governance, compliance, and risk management principles.
• Hands-on experience with SAP or another major ERP system.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with senior management, auditors, shareholders, and various business functions.
