About the Role

Edition is seeking a dedicated Lifeguard to join its team in Makkah and Jeddah. This full-time position is crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of guests within the swimming areas, while also contributing to a fun and relaxing environment. The role requires vigilance, a quick response capability, and a strong commitment to guest service, suitable for candidates with 0-1 year of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Observe the swimming area continuously for dangerous conditions, unusual or unsafe activities, and swimmers requiring assistance.
• Utilize appropriate rescue techniques promptly when observing swimmers in distress.
• Provide immediate assistance to injured guests and remain with them until emergency medical services arrive.
• Promote and enforce all rules and regulations of the recreation facility to ensure guest safety.
• Identify situations where guests may be unable to safely participate in an activity and report these to a supervisor or manager.
• Report all accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management and complete required safety training and certifications.

Guest Service and Facility Operations

• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, ensuring a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
• Maintain a fun and relaxing atmosphere for all guests within the swimming area.
• Obtain, fold, and stack towels in accordance with company procedures.
• Perform cleaning duties including washing, mopping, and maintaining the pool deck.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines to identify any defects or maintenance needs.

Workplace Conduct and Physical Demands

• Communicate with colleagues and guests using clear and professional language.
• Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
• Comply with all quality assurance expectations and standards.
• Move at a speed required to respond to work situations, including running, walking, or jogging.
• Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or for an entire work shift.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, and objects exceeding 75 pounds with assistance.
• Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Navigate sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and service ramps.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Qualifications and Certifications

• Education: High school diploma or *** equivalent is preferred.
• Experience: No related work experience or supervisory experience is required.
• Required Certifications:
  • CPR Certification
  • First Aid Certification
  • Fitness Equipment certification
  • Any additional certification or training mandated by local and state agencies.
