Plant General Manager Battery Pack / Cell Manufacturing

About the Role

Gotion High-Tech is seeking a Plant General Manager for Battery Pack / Cell Manufacturing. This full-time role is based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and involves leading the establishment, launch, and operation of Gotion's battery manufacturing footprint in the Middle East. The initial focus will be on battery pack manufacturing, with potential expansion into cell manufacturing.

Role Overview

The Plant General Manager will hold overall responsibility for the plant's safety, quality, delivery, cost, operational performance, and organizational development. This position is critical for establishing a new manufacturing presence and ensuring its efficient and compliant operation within the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead plant planning, construction, equipment installation, commissioning, production launch, and ramp-up phases.
• Manage annual operating objectives, production plans, cost targets, organizational planning, and overall plant performance.
• Develop and continuously improve manufacturing systems across production, engineering, quality, equipment, process, supply chain, IT, and EHS.
• Drive capacity planning, OEE, yield, productivity, delivery performance, lean manufacturing, automation, and digital manufacturing initiatives.
• Establish and maintain robust quality systems covering incoming materials, in-process quality, finished products, and customer quality.
• Develop local supply chains and increase the localization of materials, components, equipment, and services.
• Oversee manufacturing cost management, including material, labor, Capex, Opex, and operational improvement efforts.
• Develop and execute localization and Saudization plans, encompassing recruitment, training, and development of local technical and management talent.
• Ensure compliance with local EHS, fire protection, environmental, occupational health, and industrial regulations.
• Build and lead the plant management team across Production, Engineering, Process, Equipment, Quality, Supply Chain, EHS, HR, and Administration functions.
• Support engagement with government authorities, industrial zones, investment organizations, and strategic local partners.

Required Experience

• Candidates must possess over 10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing leadership, preferably within battery or related industries.

This is a full-time position based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The role involves leading the establishment of a new manufacturing facility, requiring a hands-on approach and strong leadership in a dynamic environment.
