Sustainability Specialist

About the Role

Binladin International Holding Group is seeking a Sustainability Specialist to join their team in Makkah, with operations spanning Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time role involves developing and implementing sustainability strategies across the group's portfolio companies, focusing on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives.

Role Overview

The Sustainability Specialist will be responsible for driving the integration of sustainability practices throughout the organization. This includes conducting assessments, defining key performance indicators, and ensuring compliance with international reporting frameworks. The role requires a professional who can coordinate with various stakeholders and contribute to the group's sustainability reporting efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and align sustainability strategies and initiatives across BIHG’s portfolio companies.
• Conduct double materiality assessments at group and subsidiary levels to identify ESG risks and opportunities.
• Work with business units to define and track KPIs for emissions reduction, resource efficiency, diversity and inclusion, and governance.
• Coordinate the collection, validation, and consolidation of ESG data in line with GRI Standards and other applicable frameworks, including ISSB/SASB, TCFD, the UN SDGs, and the GHG Protocol.
• Draft the annual Group Sustainability/ESG Report and prepare disclosures for the Board, investors, regulators, and external rating agencies.
• Establish data collection processes for Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions; energy and water use; circularity; waste; and social indicators across subsidiaries.
• Partner with Internal Audit to strengthen data integrity and prepare ESG information for third-party assurance.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on Group sustainability matters.
• Deliver workshops and training to build ESG knowledge across subsidiary management teams.
• Monitor relevant regional and international sustainability requirements and advise on upcoming reporting or compliance needs.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience is required for this position.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Makkah, with responsibilities covering operations in Jeddah and Makkah. The role involves working within a dynamic group structure, collaborating with various business units and external partners.
