Cook II

About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Cook II to join their team in Medina. This is a full-time position for individuals with 0-1 years of experience in a related field. The Cook II will be responsible for preparing and cooking food according to established recipes and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food items.
• Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables; weigh, measure, and mix ingredients accurately.
• Prepare and cook food in accordance with recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
• Prepare cold food items and operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test foods to ensure they are cooked sufficiently and monitor food quality throughout the preparation process.
• Set up and break down the workstation, serving food in proper portions onto appropriate receptacles.
• Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Check and ensure the correctness of appliance and food temperatures.
• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
• Complete all required safety training and certifications.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or an entire work shift.
• Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: High school diploma or *** equivalent is preferred.
• Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience is preferred.
• Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience is required for this role.
