Mechanical Technician

About the Role

Acwa China is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join their team in Medina, Al Madinah Al Manwarah. This full-time role involves performing maintenance, modification, overhauling, and installation activities on mechanical machinery to ensure effective functionality and reliability. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to execute maintenance, modification, overhauling, and installation tasks on mechanical machinery. This must be done in strict accordance with standard operating procedures, HSE guidelines, and quality standards to achieve optimal functionality and reliability of equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily and routine preventative mechanical maintenance work according to established schedules and ACWA NOMAC procedures to ensure continuous operations.
• Monitor the physical condition of all machines within the assigned plant and report non-conformances to the Mechanical Engineer/Supervisor.
• Respond to mechanical failures by implementing corrective actions in adherence to procedures and guidelines to minimize downtime and maximize equipment functionality.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues, including diagnosis, repair, and checking for corrosion, cracks, leaks, and failures, using necessary tools and spare parts.
• Diagnose causes of mechanical malfunction or failure, such as defective parts, and perform necessary repairs or adjustments in collaboration with the Mechanical Engineer/Supervisor.
• Interpret technical manuals, mechanical diagrams, and machinery drawings to effectively carry out maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
• Check and maintain necessary stock levels of spare parts to support effective inventory control.
• Update the maintenance logbook with details of work performed, including defaults, problems, findings, and machine conditions.
• Contribute to the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, programs, and projects.

Compliance and Safety

• Adhere to all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions.
• Comply with all health, safety, security, and environmental procedures, instructions, and controls to ensure employee safety and environmental compliance.

Additional Duties

Perform any other duties as required by the line manager to support operational needs.
