Job Description

About the Role

Petro Rabigh is seeking a Plant Operator (Field)- I to join its Monomer Operations team in Rabigh. This full-time position involves performing and assisting in various plant operations, ensuring the efficient functioning of facilities, and responding effectively to emergency conditions. The role is critical for maintaining operational continuity and safety within the plant environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform or assist in the start-up and shut-down of assigned plant and facilities in accordance with approved operating procedures or instructions.
  • Conduct regular inspections and walk-throughs of plant facilities to ensure efficient plant operation.
  • Identify malfunctions or symptoms and report them promptly to the Shift Supervisor or console operator.
  • Maintain field instruments and local measurements in logs, updating checklists as required.
  • Respond to emergency or upset conditions by executing necessary field activities such as flaring, blow down, isolation, diversion, and switching, in close communication with the console operator and/or Shift Supervisor.
  • Collect samples and perform process chemical and physical tests as needed.
  • Support or assist the Shift Supervisor as instructed, including communication with other sections, contractors, or vendors, and issuing work permits.
  • Perform in-plant housekeeping duties and provide technical advice to other field operators or share experiences with colleagues to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Execute any other duties and responsibilities as designated by the Shift Supervisor.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Naphtha operations with a High School qualification, or 4 years of experience in Naphtha operations with a Diploma.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

  • Plant-specific understanding of mechanisms and start/stop field operations.
  • Basic understanding of instruments, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and emergency shutdown systems.
  • Thorough understanding of refinery or petrochemical plant layout and operating processes.
  • Strong safety awareness and the ability to implement safety policies and hazard protection measures.

Work Environment

This role operates within the Monomer Operations facilities in Rabigh, requiring active participation in field activities and close coordination with supervisors and console operators to ensure safe and efficient plant performance.
