  • Perform HMC software updates, release upgrades, service pack installations, and configuration standardization.
  • Plan and execute firmware upgrades on IBM Power Systems (Power9/Power10 or equivalent).
  • Lead SAN storage migrations across multi-vendor platforms (3PAR/Unity/IBM or equivalent), including LUN provisioning/decommissioning, zoning coordination, multipath validation, and host mappings.
  • Lead yearly DR exercises, performing end-to-end failover testing, environment validation, and recovery procedures.
  • Address OS-level vulnerabilities (CVEs), apply hardening, and maintain compliance posture.
  • Participate in and lead infrastructure initiatives such as OS upgrades, data center migrations, storage and virtualization modernization, and infrastructure automation.
  • Perform Linux L2 tasks, including user management, patching, service monitoring, log analysis, cron, and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Conduct proactive monitoring, system health checks, and risk identification.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including SOPs, build documents, DR runbooks, and configuration records.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 7-12 years of experience in AIX L3 support and IBM Power Systems administration.
  • Demonstrated deep expertise in AIX, VIOS, HMC, Power Systems, SAN storage, and high-availability clustering.
  • Proficiency in Linux L2-level administration tasks.
  • Experience with multi-vendor SAN storage platforms (*, 3PAR/Unity/IBM).
  • Proven ability to lead and execute complex upgrades, migrations, and DR exercises.
  • Strong understanding of security, audit, and compliance requirements for mission-critical systems.
