Assistant Chief Engineer

About the Role

Hilton is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves supporting the Chief Engineer in managing daily maintenance operations and ensuring the smooth functioning of the hotel's physical infrastructure and systems. The position focuses on delivering memorable guest experiences through effective maintenance and operational leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team, including recruitment, training, supervision, and performance evaluations.
• Assist the Chief Engineer in overseeing daily maintenance activities, prioritizing tasks, and verifying completion through the property maintenance management system.
• Ensure timely resolution of service requests, guest concerns, and emergencies.
• Oversee the maintenance of the physical building, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and life safety systems, coordinating inspections and upholding safety and compliance standards.
• Support the Chief Engineer in monitoring departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to equipment upkeep, audit results, and team productivity, taking action to improve performance as needed.
• Collaborate with the broader hotel leadership team on evacuation procedures, duty manager coverage, and other safety protocols.
• Supervise external contractors and inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance.
• Support and oversee property-wide energy conservation programs to reduce utility costs.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a relevant engineering or maintenance leadership role.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
• Experience with property maintenance management systems.
• Knowledge of national and local safety and compliance regulations.
