About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre is seeking an Assistant Consultant, Critical Care to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves providing essential medical care within the Critical Care department while also contributing to the professional development of interns and residents. The role operates strictly in accordance with established medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, and the Hospital’s comprehensive policies and procedures.

Role Summary

The Assistant Consultant plays a crucial role in supporting the Consultant in patient management and care within the Critical Care specialty. This includes delivering high-quality patient care across all aspects of Critical Care, aligned with approved clinical privileges and the Hospital's medical care standards. The position also encompasses providing timely consultations and ensuring accurate medical record documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Consultant in providing patient care and management within Critical Care, adhering to Hospital standards.
• Deliver high-quality patient care across all aspects of Critical Care, consistent with approved clinical privileges.
• Provide inpatient and emergency room consultations upon request, ensuring timely responses as per Hospital policy.
• Ensure the timely completion, accuracy, and legibility of medical records.
• Provide on-call services, maintaining availability and response times within prescribed Hospital guidelines.
• Conduct daily morning rounds to identify patients ready for discharge and ensure discharge orders are written 24 hours prior to discharge.
• Perform other clinical responsibilities related to the Critical Care specialty as assigned.

Educational and Professional Development

• Provide orientation, bedside training, and supervision to interns, residents, and fellows.
• Participate in the department’s educational activities and training programs.
• Engage in national and international medical conferences to stay abreast of advancements.
• Maintain and enhance professional knowledge and fulfill continuing education requirements.

Experience Required

Candidates for this position should possess 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in Critical Care. This experience is essential for effectively managing patient care and contributing to the training of junior medical staff within a demanding hospital environment.
