This full-time position for an Associate Director Commercial is based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Role Purpose
The Associate Director Commercial will lead Botanica Red Sea's commercial function to expand profitable, contracted revenue across all business lines. This includes plant and tree supply, contract growing, nursery services, horticultural soil, indoor plants and flowers, agricultural consulting, and landscape maintenance services. The role involves owning the commercial strategy, pricing, tendering, client contracts, and key accounts for both internal Red Sea Global clients and external developments. The Associate Director is accountable for ensuring that all client commitments are deliverable by business units and are margin-positive for Botanica.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the 3–5 year commercial strategy and annual revenue plan, aligning with the Botanica business plan and Red Sea Global Group priorities.
- Define the product and service portfolio and establish the pricing architecture for each line.
- Conduct market research and competitor benchmarking to identify new segments and services.
- Provide monthly demand forecasts to the PMO for sales and operations planning.
- Build and manage the opportunity pipeline for internal Red Sea Global clients and external developments.
- Lead bid/no-bid reviews, tender strategy, and the preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
- Approve cost build-ups and price-to-win strategies in collaboration with Finance.
- Develop strategic partnerships, distribution channels, and sales routes for various products.
- Manage client relationships for all key accounts, including account plans, SLAs, and performance reviews.
- Lead negotiation, execution, and renewal of client contracts, ensuring services are mobilized with signed agreements.
- Manage variations, change orders, extra works, claims, and price adjustments.
- Ensure monthly invoices are supported by verified service evidence and manage account-level collections.
- Track sales, revenue, and margin against plan, reporting variances and recovery actions.
- Lead marketing plans to position Botanica as a trusted supplier, overseeing the plant catalogue, sales collateral, and digital presence.
- Build and lead the commercial team, setting objectives, KPIs, and succession plans.
- Own commercial policies, including pricing approval matrix, credit terms, and anti-bribery controls.
- Follow and enforce all relevant Botanica and Red Sea Global Group policies, processes, and standards.
- Apply and champion safety, quality, and environmental management systems.
- Identify and lead opportunities for continuous improvement in departmental systems and practices.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a commercial leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute commercial strategies across multiple business lines.
- Experience in tendering, contract negotiation, and key account management.
- Understanding of sales and operations planning (S&OP) and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 37301) is preferred.
Work Environment
Botanica operates as an integrated landscape company with revenue streams from project-based product sales (plants, trees, soil, indoor plants, and flowers) and recurring services (landscape maintenance, nursery management, and consulting). The role serves both internal clients within Red Sea Global and external developments, including hotel operators, developers, and government entities. The position requires balancing growth objectives with the delivery capabilities of production units and proactively managing commercial risks such as client concentration, price pressure, and scope creep.
