About the Associate Director - Commercial Role

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Associate Director - Commercial to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time leadership position involves overseeing complex programs and projects, managing teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality results for our clients. Role Overview and Responsibilities

In this senior role, you will act as the Commission Manager, taking full responsibility for service delivery on large or complex commissions. You will serve as the primary client interface, ensuring project objectives are met through value-added cost management services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing feasibility studies and preparing procurement reports.
  • Managing estimating and cost planning activities, including presenting final cost plans.
  • Overseeing the procurement process from pre-qualification to contract preparation.
  • Effectively managing post-contract cost variances and change control.
  • Conducting cost checking, valuation work, and producing monthly cost reports.
  • Undertaking value engineering and life cycle costing analysis.
  • Leading negotiation and agreement of final accounts.
  • Serving as the lead interface with clients and consultants throughout all project stages.
  • Leading cost management teams to ensure all accountabilities are met.
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities and cross-selling within existing and prospective client relationships.
  • Collaborating with Directors on bid construction for new work.
  • Championing improvements to cost management procedures and products.
  • Contributing to staff development, including recruitment, resource planning, and appraisals.
  • Participating in knowledge management initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A minimum of 15 years of post-graduate experience in quantity surveying or a related construction discipline.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • MRICS or an equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cost and commercial management.
  • Proven experience with NEC3 contracts, specifically Option C (Target Cost).
  • A strong track record in post-contract administration and cost control.
  • Substantial experience delivering major infrastructure programs and projects within sectors such as Rail, Aviation, Water/Utilities, or Highways.
  • Proven capability in leading and managing high-performing teams.
