About Mace and the Associate Director Planning Role
Mace is seeking an Associate Director Planning to join its team in Riyadh. As a company that integrates construction expertise with consultancy services, Mace focuses on delivering complex projects. This full-time position offers an opportunity to contribute to a significant development programme in Saudi Arabia.
Project Overview
Mace serves as a delivery partner on one of the largest programmes currently underway in Saudi Arabia. This extensive project encompasses major mixed-use developments, including sports facilities, entertainment venues, and arts complexes, along with all associated infrastructure. The role requires leading integrated teams throughout each phase of the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on complex project requirements, providing clear analysis and recommending effective corrective actions.
- Lead the planning and scheduling delivery for medium to high-complexity projects and programmes.
- Oversee planning, scheduling, Earned Value Management (EVM), and wider project controls methodologies to drive performance.
- Communicate confidently with clients, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity.
- Develop robust plans and interpret trends using numerical and statistical techniques to inform decision-making.
- Support senior leadership through negotiations, contract development, due diligence, and business development activities.
- Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, sharing responsibility for the proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during work delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
- A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Progressing toward chartership with a recognised professional body, alongside ongoing professional development.
- Proven leadership in health, safety, and wellbeing, demonstrating measurable outcomes and embedding best practice.
- Necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Relevant work experience on high-valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, required for immigration and client approval.
Required Skills and Attributes
- Expert knowledge of schedule management tools and software.
- Strong knowledge and application of relevant legislation within complex organisational environments.
- Effective communication skills with analytical capability.
- Ability to engage, influence, and build trusted stakeholder relationships.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role is critical to Mace's commitment to delivering large-scale, complex programmes and fostering a collaborative work environment focused on performance and sustainability.
