About the Role
Misk Schools is seeking an Associate Teacher to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position requiring 2-5 years of experience. The Associate Teacher is primarily responsible for supporting student education, ensuring high standards of work and conduct, and assisting teachers with educational programs. A key focus of this role is safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all students, adhering to the school's statutory policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a safe and stimulating environment for students.
- Prepare classroom materials and supplies, such as bulletin boards and duplicated materials, as directed by the teacher.
- Support teachers through small group or whole class instruction.
- Effectively use translanguaging strategies to maintain bilingualism across the curriculum.
- Provide cover for lessons, CCAPs, and duties when required.
- Monitor the physical and emotional well-being of pupils and respond appropriately to situations.
- Implement emergency and evacuation procedures as required.
- Ensure full awareness of the school's health and safety policies.
- Attend and participate in training days, weekly staff meetings, and other meetings as required.
- Supervise playtimes and lunchtimes when necessary.
- Promote subjects within the school and provide co-curricular opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team.
- Provide support inside and outside the classroom, including during camps, educational visits, and whole-school activities, to ensure full student participation.
- Perform other delegated duties and accountabilities, including mutually agreed objectives.
- Support the teacher in no more than 25 lessons per week, as directed by the Junior School Principal.
- Undertake additional duties as required by the line manager.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
The Associate Teacher is required to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people, adhering to the school's safeguarding policies and staff code of conduct. This role involves direct support to the Designated Safeguarding Lead as a priority to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
Experience and Work Type
This full-time position requires candidates to have 2-5 years of relevant experience. The role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
