About the Role

Four Points in Riyadh is seeking an AsstMgr-Banquets for a full-time position. This entry-level management role is responsible for leading the banquet staff and personally assisting in the execution of events based on established requirements and standards. The Assistant Manager will develop and direct the team to provide consistent, high-quality service, communicate performance expectations, and train staff in operational processes. The role also involves managing financial and administrative duties.

Operational Management

• Manage departmental inventories and assets, including par levels and equipment maintenance.
• Conduct monthly department meetings with Banquet captains and employees.
• Maintain attendance logs for banquet employees and enforce established sanitation levels.
• Adhere to and reinforce all established standards, policies, and procedures (SOPs, LSOPs).
• Ensure employee awareness of the event phase portion of the Meeting Planner Survey and Guest Satisfaction Scores.
• Order necessary supplies for the department, such as china, glass, silver, buffet presentations, props, and other service equipment.
• Understand the impact of Banquet operations on overall event success and manage activities to maximize customer satisfaction.
• Schedule banquet service staff according to forecast and service standards, while maximizing profits.

Team Leadership and Event Execution

• Attend and participate in all pertinent meetings.
• Lead shifts and actively participate in the servicing of events.
• Apply and continually broaden knowledge of food, cutting-edge cuisine, and overall event presentation.

Guest Service Excellence

• Set a positive example for guest relations and interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
• Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints.
• Empower employees to provide excellent customer service and strive to improve service performance.
• Emphasize guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focus on continuous improvement.
• Review quarterly Meeting Planner Survey results and participate in the development and implementation of corrective actions to address service challenges.

Staff Development and HR Functions

• Interview and hire Banquet captains and employees with appropriate skills.
• Support a departmental orientation program for employees to receive appropriate new hire training.
• Ensure employees understand expectations and parameters.
• Observe service behaviors of employees and provide feedback to individuals.
• Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
• Participate in the development and implementation of corrective action plans.
• Communicate and execute departmental and property emergency procedures, ensuring staff are trained in safety procedures.

Required Experience

Candidates for the AsstMgr-Banquets position should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in banquet operations or a similar hospitality management role. Demonstrated ability to manage financial and administrative duties is also required for this full-time role.
