This role is for a Biologics & Immunology Medical Lead within the BioPharma Business Unit, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Role Summary

The Biologics & Immunology Medical Lead will join the Medical Affairs team in Saudi Arabia, reporting to the KSA BBU Medical Director and serving as a member of the KSA BBU Medical Affairs Leadership team. This full-time position involves providing medical affairs therapeutic area leadership to deploy and adapt AstraZeneca's global and international medical affairs strategy for Severe Asthma, CSwNP, COPD, and Lupus. The Medical Lead will also oversee the execution of medical activities and lead a team of medical affairs professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic guidance for building the therapeutic area (TA) medical organization, aligning with AZ KSA Vision 2030.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing KSA BBU medical team, fostering a culture of mentoring and coaching.
  • Build external TA leadership and establish partnerships with key medical institutions, research centers, and thought leader networks across KSA.
  • Ensure all Biologics and Immunology TA medical operational and compliance processes are in place and integrated with KSA AZ policies.
  • Drive a patient-centric approach, developing collaborations with Patient Association Groups (PAGs) and partnering with HCPs on patient identification initiatives.
  • Oversee and develop evidence generation strategies and concepts based on medical, payer, and value evidence needs.
  • Provide cross-functional support for the development and execution of brand plans.
  • Manage scientific information dissemination and relationships with key external experts (KEEs) and advocacy groups.
  • Represent Medical in Value teams, contributing to business planning and Market Access strategy.
  • Support pre-launch activities for new therapeutic areas, products, and line extensions.
  • Facilitate local clinical research, including participation in the development and conduction of local/regional studies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience ranging from 2 to 5 years in a relevant field.
  • Ability to understand and formulate plans within complex healthcare ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to build partnerships and collaborate effectively internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate scientific, economic, and humanistic concepts to technical audiences.
