Job Description

About the Role

Wareef is seeking a Business Continuity Expert to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role requires 2-5 years of experience and focuses on developing and implementing robust business continuity strategies and plans to ensure operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Business Impact Analysis (BIA) processes to identify critical functions and define Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).
  • Design and develop alternative strategies to ensure business continuity, including backup work sites, redundant technical systems, and alternative supply chains.
  • Prepare and formulate Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and detailed operational plans for each department, ensuring clear implementation steps during crises.
  • Collaborate with the IT department to align Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) with operational business needs.
  • Design and conduct simulation exercises and periodic tests for continuity plans to verify their effectiveness and staff readiness.
  • Identify threats that could lead to business interruption (*, natural disasters, cyberattacks, power outages) and establish preventive measures.
  • Develop crisis communication protocols and define the roles and responsibilities of the crisis management team.

Required Skills and Capabilities

  • International Standards Proficiency: In-depth experience in applying ISO 22301 (International Standard for Business Continuity Management System).
  • Scenario Thinking: High capability to envision worst-case scenarios and develop practical, realistic solutions to address them.
  • Project Management and Leadership: Skill in leading workshops with various departments to extract requirements and identify critical operations.
  • Bridging Technology and Business: Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements (*, backup storage capacity, system recovery speed).

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Systems Engineering, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in business continuity and crisis management, preferably within government or vital sectors.
  • Professional Certifications (Key Advantage): Highly preferred certifications include:
    • CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional)
    • AMBCI / MBCI (from the Business Continuity Institute - BCI)
    • ISO 22301 Lead Implementer/Auditor
