About the Business Development Expert Role

Tap Payments is seeking a Business Development Expert to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position focuses on expanding Tap Payments' reach and services within the MENA region by connecting businesses with unified payment solutions. The role requires a professional with 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Business Development Expert will play a key role in driving growth by identifying and engaging with promising merchants and prospects. This involves selling new cross-border payment solutions and services through various channels, including cold calling, meetings, networking, and events. The role also requires assisting new merchants in evaluating Tap Payments, addressing detailed product capability questions, and preparing comprehensive presentations and proposals. The individual will manage the sales process, serve as the primary contact for merchants and partners, and maintain a well-organized portfolio of key accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage with high-potential merchants and prospects to build a robust sales pipeline.
  • Sell cross-border payment solutions and services to merchants.
  • Educate prospective merchants on Tap Payments' offerings and capabilities.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed presentations and proposals to potential clients.
  • Manage the end-to-end sales cycle and serve as the main point of contact for merchants and partners.
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with key accounts and manage a structured portfolio.
  • Collaborate with other sales teams to share best practices, insights, and industry trends.
  • Utilize strong communication and negotiation skills to secure new merchant agreements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business demands and role growth.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a minimum of 4 years of role-specific experience, demonstrating a strong understanding of the payments technology (PayTech) landscape. While a degree is preferred, significant real-world experience will also be considered. The ability to develop and strengthen relationships with clients, merchants, and stakeholders is essential. A customer-first approach, persistence for excellence, and the capacity to anticipate problems and create solutions are highly valued.
