About the Role

Alfanar is seeking a Business Planning Manager to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to establishing, developing, aligning, and executing annual business plans for an assigned unit. The manager will oversee cross-functional committees, facilitate key meetings, and monitor performance through reporting tools, ensuring accurate documentation and timely follow-up on action items to drive successful business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the coordination and execution of annual business planning activities, ensuring alignment with technical and operational objectives.
  • Translate high-level business goals into actionable initiatives with defined priorities, responsibilities, and timelines across multiple functions.
  • Oversee the review and validation of sales, resource, and financial budgets through rigorous data analysis to ensure coherence with strategic plans.
  • Guide planning sessions by developing key materials and ensuring consistent alignment among stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define and track performance indicators, providing analytical insights to measure progress against business targets.
  • Monitor plan execution, milestones, and outcomes, proactively identifying deviations and recommending data-driven corrective actions.
  • Mitigate risks and identify opportunities to ensure successful implementation of business plans.
  • Establish and oversee committee structures, charters, and governance frameworks to support cross-functional collaboration.
  • Manage end-to-end committee operations, including agenda setting, meeting facilitation, and formal documentation of outcomes and decisions.
  • Track and follow up on action items to ensure timely completion and transparency across teams.
  • Develop and manage dashboards that visualize progress, performance, and KPIs for real-time monitoring and decision-making.
  • Deliver performance reports and trend analyses to senior leadership to enable informed strategic actions.
  • Provide technical tools and reporting solutions to support committee oversight of strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Ensure secure storage, compliance, and confidentiality of all business planning documents, reports, and meeting records in line with audit and regulatory standards.
  • Continuously review and enhance business planning tools, systems, and practices to drive efficiency and accuracy.

Managerial Accountabilities

The Business Planning Manager is expected to demonstrate strong leadership and operational accountability, including:

  • Recruiting, recognizing, and cultivating high performers to build a robust second line of management.
  • Addressing low performance through guidance or appropriate action, while treating all subordinates equally.

  • Monitoring and controlling budgets and expenses to achieve optimum cost efficiency.

Strategic Development and Process Improvement

This role involves contributing to the strategic growth and operational efficiency of the organization through:

  • Transforming corporate goals into actionable business plans, and subsequently planning, following up, and executing these plans.
  • Developing the organizational structure based on current requirements and future development plans.
  • Ensuring the availability of job descriptions for all roles and their deployment.
  • Developing and coordinating well-defined written systems, policies, and procedures, seeking automation opportunities where possible.
  • Promoting the full utilization of automated systems and fostering a culture of their adoption.
  • Adapting to new techniques, technologies, management structures, and business models.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading business planning, execution, and performance monitoring.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, strategic planning, and the use of reporting tools.
  • Strong understanding of committee management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Familiarity with IT solutions relevant to business planning and operations.
