Role Summary: Captain Banquet

Courtyard by Marriott is seeking a Captain Banquet for a full-time position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves overseeing banquet operations to ensure guest satisfaction and adherence to service standards. The Captain Banquet will be responsible for coordinating service needs, managing event setups, and maintaining operational cleanliness.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate service requirements to kitchen chefs and waiters during receptions.
  • Summarize charges for group receptions and prepare checks for payment to group contacts.
  • Ensure banquet halls, restaurants, and coffee break areas are prepared for service.
  • Verify that centerpieces are correctly placed on each table.
  • Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of all china, glassware, and silverware before use.
  • Confirm guest satisfaction throughout events.
  • Arrange tables according to event type and service standards.
  • Relay any additional food orders, allergy information, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of work areas throughout operational hours.

General Responsibilities and Standards

  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures; report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete required safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are neat and professional.
  • Maintain the privacy of company information and protect company assets.

  • Meet quality assurance expectations and standards.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests in accordance with company standards.
  • Communicate professionally and clearly; answer phone calls using appropriate etiquette.
  • Listen and respond appropriately to issues raised by other employees.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Related Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
