About the Role

Amazon Saudi Arabia (ex-Souq) is seeking a full-time Category Merchant Manager (CMM) to join its Marketplace team in Riyadh. This role is central to shaping the future of the Home and Electronics marketplace, involving significant ownership of category P&Ls and driving strategic projects across multiple teams. The position focuses on both top-line growth and bottom-line efficiency within these rapidly expanding categories.

Role Overview and Impact

The Category Merchant Manager will define how third-party sellers engage with the Home and Electronics marketplace, crafting incentive frameworks that align seller success with customer satisfaction. This role involves extensive cross-organizational influence, from collaborating with the Quality Assurance team to ensure high standards for electronics and home goods, to partnering with Supply Chain experts for optimizing logistics of large home items and delicate electronics. Daily activities include monitoring category performance, conducting seller business reviews, and participating in supply chain optimization meetings.

Category Strategic Planning

• Collaborate with Home and Electronics Leadership on planning and business strategy.
• Drive a best-in-class shopping experience for customers in Home and Electronics categories.
• Maximize unit sales and Gross Merchandise Sales (GMS) growth through timely analysis and action.
• Optimize assortments across various home goods and electronics product lines.
• Develop strategies to enhance seasonal offerings and stay ahead of technological trends.

Business Development

• Partner with Marketplace teams to identify and recruit strategic sellers in Home and Electronics.
• Focus on expanding category group selection offerings.
• Develop frameworks to onboard and support small to mid-size brands in both categories.
• Create incentive structures to attract top-tier national and international brands to the platform.

Customer and Seller Experience Improvement

• Innovate with sellers to drive optimal customer experience across the Home and Electronics 3P business.
• Deploy the Amazon vision for Home and Electronics on the 3P side, ensuring seamless integration with 1P offerings.
• Ensure customer experience parity between 1P and 3P items in both categories.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to maintain highest standards for electronics and home goods.
• Work with Supply Chain to optimize delivery experience for large home items and delicate electronics.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess 2-5 years of retail experience in Home and Electronics, coupled with a forward-thinking approach to digital commerce. A deep understanding of both categories is required to curate selection for customers in Saudi Arabia. The role demands strong analytical prowess to dive deep into data, unearth insights, and inform category growth strategies and decision-making. The CMM must be a collaborative leader, adept at navigating cross-functional partnerships and influencing senior stakeholders across Amazon's ecosystem.
