Role Overview: Chief Specialist, Integrated Planning

The Chief Specialist, Integrated Planning is responsible for creating a unified, integrated view of priorities, demand, resources, dependencies, and delivery across Technology Enablement. This role connects strategic objectives with execution, enabling leadership to direct investment and capacity towards critical initiatives. It enhances decision quality by translating complex portfolio information into clear priorities, scenarios, and trade-offs. The specialist integrates technology roadmaps, business demand, delivery milestones, resource requirements, and performance insights to ensure initiatives are realistically sequenced, execution-ready, and aligned with business needs. Through disciplined planning, governance, and performance insight, the role aims to improve portfolio visibility, anticipate constraints, and facilitate earlier intervention, stronger accountability, and more predictable execution within Technology Enablement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape and embed an integrated planning framework that connects Technology Enablement priorities, demand, roadmaps, resources, dependencies, and expected outcomes.
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable annual, quarterly, and rolling plans with clear sequencing, milestones, ownership, and decision points.
  • Strengthen execution readiness by ensuring plans are realistic, aligned to business needs, and supported by appropriate governance.
  • Integrate technology demand, portfolio initiatives, and transformation priorities into a consolidated enterprise planning view.
  • Drive prioritization, capacity, and dependency analysis to enable informed trade-offs on sequencing, resources, and delivery commitments.
  • Align roadmaps across business, technology, Finance, Procurement, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Data, and operational stakeholders.
  • Establish consistent planning and portfolio governance to provide leadership with timely visibility of progress, risks, dependencies, constraints, and required decisions.
  • Create executive-level dashboards, scorecards, and decision insights to strengthen portfolio performance management and corrective action.
  • Define common planning standards, performance measures, and escalation criteria to improve consistency and accountability across Technology Enablement.
  • Translate complex portfolio and planning information into clear scenarios, recommendations, and decision options for the VP Technology Enablement and leadership team.
  • Anticipate execution risks, constraints, and cross-portfolio dependencies, enabling intervention before they materially affect delivery.
  • Advise on portfolio adjustments, resource trade-offs, and sequencing decisions to protect strategic outcomes and execution priorities.
  • Create alignment across business functions, technology domains, and enabling functions to resolve competing priorities and critical planning dependencies.
  • Facilitate enterprise planning and prioritization forums that lead to clear decisions, ownership, and follow-through.
  • Strengthen planning capability, tools, and practices through continuous improvement, knowledge transfer, and lessons learned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required.

Success Factors

Successful performance in this role will be demonstrated by Technology Enablement operating from an integrated and current view of priorities, demand, capacity, dependencies, milestones, and expected outcomes. Portfolio and resource decisions will be supported by clear priorities, evidence-based trade-offs, and transparent planning insights. Critical dependencies, capacity constraints, and execution risks will be identified and escalated early enough for effective intervention. Leadership will have timely, consistent, and decision-ready visibility of portfolio health, performance, and areas requiring action. Technology roadmaps and delivery plans will remain aligned across business and enabling functions, reducing conflicting priorities and fragmented execution. Planning standards, governance, and capability will mature over time, improving accountability and execution predictability.
