Civil Inspector Water Transmission

About the Role

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a Civil Inspector for Water Transmission projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves managing and overseeing all on-site civil engineering activities related to water transmission and water network projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications and regulatory requirements. The position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee civil activities and interfacing from inception to completion.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, design specifications, applicable codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct estimation, constructability reviews, and construction management.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgetary constraints.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, architects, and regulatory agencies.
• Report regularly on project progress to senior management.

Site Supervision and Quality Assurance

• Monitor and guide interfacing issues between contractors to prevent rework.
• Liaise with clients to resolve construction design and other bottlenecks while maintaining quality and safety functions.
• Investigate and report safety incidents or near misses.
• Conduct regular inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety standards.
• Address site-related issues promptly, providing technical guidance and solutions.
• Implement QA/QC procedures to ensure construction work meets established standards.
• Conduct inspections and tests to verify the quality of materials and workmanship.
• Document and report non-conformities or deviations, working towards timely resolution.

Design Review and Planning

• Review site-related documentation such as method statements, installation drawings, and site testing procedures.
• Review decommissioning studies, feasibility studies, and associated risk assessments.
• Conduct quarterly audits for third-party and EPC contractors.
• Review project designs, specifications, and drawings for accuracy and feasibility.
• Provide input during the design phase to optimize construction processes and materials selection.
• Collaborate with design teams to resolve design-related issues or modifications.

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with architects, structural engineers, and other professionals to coordinate interdisciplinary project aspects.
• Foster a collaborative work environment, encouraging effective communication and teamwork.
• Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers and site staff as needed.
