About the Role

NewBridge Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Commercial Director to lead commercial operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) market. Based in Riyadh, this full-time role involves close collaboration with the Line Manager to drive business results for assigned franchises. The Director will lead sales teams of varying sizes, focusing on achieving consolidated IMS and TMS targets, as well as Commercial KPIs such as Gross and Net Sales, and managing expiries and expenses. This position requires over 10 years of relevant experience.

Strategic Planning and Business Growth

The Commercial Director is responsible for developing and implementing the commercial strategy for allocated franchises within KSA, in close collaboration with cluster and franchise leadership. This includes identifying growth and expansion opportunities for products, developing and executing business, customer, and account plans, and allocating resources effectively. The role ensures the achievement of key business results through active management of account activities and proactive control of sales and marketing expenses to meet financial targets with appropriate ROI.

Sales Team Leadership and Development

A core responsibility is to lead and motivate a team of Sales Managers and sales representatives to deliver IMS and TMS targets for their respective products and franchises in KSA. This involves:

  • Conducting regular double visits with sales representatives for coaching and mentoring.
  • Developing team members in selling skills, brand knowledge, and customer understanding.
  • Overseeing formulary approval processes, enlisting in the MOH and institutions, and social security reimbursement where applicable.
  • Providing regular feedback and managing individual performance to ensure standards are met.
  • Reviewing OCE reporting results to maximize productivity.
  • Aligning team objectives with business and account plans and fostering a culture of performance, accountability, and excellence.

Market Engagement and Compliance

This role serves as a key internal point of contact within the KSA market for managing distributor and government relations for allocated franchises. Responsibilities include:

  • Establishing strong relationships with distributors and third parties, escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Building and managing strategic customer allowances and long-term relationships to achieve customer satisfaction goals.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), government agencies, and officials.
  • Participating in negotiations and preparations for bids, tenders, awards, and quotations for hospitals and key accounts.
  • Staying fully informed on current affairs, economic developments, and opportunities within the KSA market.
  • Ensuring all activities maintain high standards of legal and ethical compliance, including sanctions compliance, in accordance with NewBridge's Code of Conduct, Policies, and SOPs.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for the Commercial Director position should possess the following:

  • Experience: Over 10 years of professional experience, including previous experience leading high-performing teams.
  • Industry Knowledge: High level of knowledge and previous experience in Rare Disease.
  • Market Understanding: Comprehensive knowledge of the healthcare environment, including its structures, functionality, processes, funding, distribution chain, and customer types within KSA.
  • Therapeutic Expertise: Demonstrated high level of knowledge on assigned therapeutic areas for allocated franchises, with a commitment to regularly reviewing clinical updates and training materials.
