About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Commi II to join its culinary team in Riyadh. This full-time position is designed for individuals with 0-1 years of experience in kitchen operations, focusing on the preparation and cooking of various food items. The Commi II plays a foundational role in ensuring food quality and adherence to established culinary standards.

Key Responsibilities

As a Commi II, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Preparing ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and proper food storage.
• Washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Accurately weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients according to recipes.
• Preparing and cooking food in adherence to specified recipes, quality standards, presentation guidelines, and food preparation checklists.
• Preparing cold food items as required.
• Operating various kitchen appliances, including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Testing foods to confirm sufficient cooking and monitoring food quality throughout the preparation process.
• Setting up and breaking down the workstation efficiently.
• Serving food in correct portions using appropriate receptacles.

Operational Duties and Professional Conduct

Beyond food preparation, the role involves maintaining a high standard of kitchen hygiene and professional conduct:

• Washing and disinfecting kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Checking and ensuring the correctness of appliance and food temperatures.
• Adhering to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures; reporting maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management; completing required safety training and certifications.
• Ensuring uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information; protecting company assets.
• Communicating with colleagues and supervisors using clear and professional language.
• Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with others; supporting the team to achieve common goals; listening and responding appropriately to employee concerns.
• Ensuring consistent adherence to quality expectations and standards in all tasks.

Physical Requirements

This role requires physical stamina and the ability to perform various movements, including:

• Standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods or for an entire work shift.
• Reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Performing other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
