About the Commie II Role

Four Points by Sheraton is seeking a dedicated individual for the full-time position of Commie II in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is central to the kitchen operations, focusing on the preparation and cooking of food items according to established recipes and quality standards. The Commie II is also responsible for maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment and contributing to overall team objectives.

Core Culinary Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and proper storage of food items.
  • Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables as required for various dishes.
  • Accurately weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes.
  • Prepare and cook food in adherence to specified recipes, quality standards, presentation guidelines, and the food preparation checklist.
  • Prepare cold food items as part of the menu offerings.
  • Operate various kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
  • Test foods to confirm they have been cooked sufficiently and monitor food quality throughout the preparation process.
  • Set up and break down the workstation efficiently.
  • Serve food in proper portions and onto appropriate receptacles.

Kitchen Hygiene and Safety Standards

  • Wash and disinfect the kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and all equipment.
  • Check and ensure the correctness of temperatures for both appliances and food products.
  • Adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures.
  • Report any maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, or unsafe work conditions to the manager promptly.
  • Complete all required safety training and certifications.

Professional Conduct and Team Collaboration

  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional at all times.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
  • Communicate with colleagues using clear and professional language.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members.
  • Support the team in achieving common goals and objectives.
  • Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality expectations and standards in all tasks.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: A high school diploma or *** equivalent is required.
  • Related Work Experience: Candidates must have at least 1 year of related work experience in a kitchen environment.
  • Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience is required for this position.
  • License or Certification: No specific license or certification is required.

Physical Demands of the Role

The Commie II position involves physical demands typical of a kitchen environment. This includes the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or for an entire work shift. The role also requires reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Candidates must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Additionally, the individual will perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
