Construction Engineer Electrical

About the Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Construction Engineer Electrical for a full-time position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves providing essential construction support across various project phases, including work planning, material management, quantity verification, and quality control. The successful candidate will contribute to ensuring construction activities are executed safely, meet quality standards, and align with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist construction supervision in planning construction methods and procedures.
• Coordinate engineering and construction issues with the Senior Construction Engineer and/or Construction Manager.
• Identify and report construction quality, safety, and schedule issues to the responsible Construction Manager.
• Monitor site activities to ensure work is performed safely and compliantly.
• Interpret design engineering drawings and ensure contractor compliance with issued construction drawings, including temporary facilities and field sketches for revisions and additions, and prepare "as-built" drawings.
• Review design drawings, study interference problems, and review related vendor drawings and installation instructions.
• Review estimated quantities and material takeoffs for field purchases submitted by the contractor, reporting discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Assist in coordinating vendor material deliveries, material storage, expediting, and engineering reports related to the schedule.
• Follow and ensure projections and schedules for manpower, material, and equipment requirements.
• Review and manage field change notices, extra work orders, and back charge notices.
• Attend daily and weekly coordination and progress meetings with the contractor.
• Collaborate and compile daily reports for submission to the Senior Construction Engineer and Construction Manager.
• Review Method Statements and safety submittals for Safe Systems of Work procedures.
• Assist the Senior Construction Engineer/Construction Manager with interface and stakeholder management.
• Maintain a zero-accident policy on site with the contractor through regular participation in and audit of clients' health and safety programs.
• Monitor the installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings and specifications.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in construction engineering, particularly with electrical systems. The role requires strong technical inspection and testing knowledge, as well as proficiency in coordinating system turnover. This position is being advertised provisionally to assess candidate interest and suitability, with any appointment subject to project approval and the formal selection process.

Work Environment

The work will be undertaken on a 24-hour, 7-day-per-week basis. Night shifts and weekend work will be required to support project delivery. The role is based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
