Costing Accountant

About the Role

Alfanar is seeking a Costing Accountant to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is responsible for overseeing and analyzing cost expenditures and purchases efficiently, ensuring timely execution and adherence to quality standards, policies, and procedures. The role contributes to achieving departmental operational plans and developments within a broader scope.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate monthly with production to finalize actual activities and close orders.
• Check and adjust actual data posted by production monthly.
• Process period-end closing and posting (WIP, Variances, Unrealized cost, etc.) monthly.
• Post all costing entries and provisions monthly.
• Analyze period-end closing results and check/adjust expenses monthly.
• Settle investment internal orders to AUC and Cost Center monthly.
• Design and update distribution cycles for allocating service and general cost center costs.
• Prepare planned costing data based on agreed plant activity.
• Enter standard cost and plant activity into the system and calculate rates.
• Maintain and update activity rates for production work centers.
• Regularly check and adjust materials master data, BOM, and Routing, coordinating with planning for corrections.
• Perform material costing runs to calculate planned costs.
• Maintain and upload production orders overhead percentages.
• Analyze WIP, unrealized costs, and production, purchasing, and inventory variances, providing justifications for major orders.
• Control actual time posted against routing and report to management.
• Prepare master consumption reports with proper adjustments.
• Monitor actual consumption and irregularities in material costs, reporting to management.
• Prepare monthly consumption and production masters, costing statements per product type, and special costing reports.
• Monitor actual vs. budget and standard costing reports, performing variance analysis.
• Prepare best estimation costing reports.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience is required for this role.
