About the Role

Saudi Gold Refinery is seeking a Crusher Operator to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves operating primary and secondary crushing circuits for ore processing, ensuring a consistent feed size for downstream heap leaching or milling operations. The Crusher Operator will report directly to the Plant & Heap Leach Superintendent and is crucial for maintaining plant throughput and equipment reliability within a heavy industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate primary gyratory and secondary cone crushers to achieve target throughput and particle size distribution, including adjusting closed-side settings and monitoring power draw.
  • Apply lockout/tagout procedures before maintenance or clearing activities and identify and mitigate hazards such as moving machinery, high noise levels, and dust exposure.
  • Conduct daily visual inspections of crusher liners, mantles, and conveyor belts to detect wear, reporting defective components to maintenance teams.
  • Record hourly tonnage, downtime reasons, and operational parameters accurately in the plant control system to support production analysis and maintenance planning.
  • Safely clear tramp metal and bridged material from feed hoppers and crusher chambers, utilizing appropriate tools and following permit-to-work guidelines when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean work area by removing spilled ore and debris and operating dust suppression systems to meet environmental compliance requirements.
  • Provide detailed verbal and written handovers to incoming shift operators regarding equipment status, outstanding issues, or hazards.
  • Assist maintenance technicians during liner changes and major repairs by isolating energy sources, preparing the work area, and ensuring all safety permits are in place.

Performance Expectations

  • Achieve zero safety violations or recordable incidents.
  • Maintain crusher availability rate above 95% through proactive reporting.
  • Consistently meet daily tonnage targets within specified particle size ranges.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all shift logs and production reports.
  • Effectively clear blockages with minimal impact on overall plant uptime.
  • Maintain full compliance with housekeeping and dust control standards.
  • Successfully complete all required technical competency assessments.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience operating crushing circuits in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate primary and secondary crushing equipment effectively.
  • Strong understanding and adherence to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Proficiency in conducting equipment inspections and reporting defects.
  • Experience with production data logging and plant control systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively for shift handovers and maintenance coordination.

This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires working in a heavy industrial setting. Candidates must be committed to strict adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.
