The Opportunity: Mine Operator

Saudi Gold Refinery Co. is seeking a Mine Operator to join our team in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is essential for executing safe and efficient extraction and drilling activities at our mining sites. The Mine Operator will be responsible for operating heavy machinery, such as drill rigs and haul trucks, to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality feedstock for our refining operations. This position requires candidates with 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate drill rigs, excavators, and haul trucks to extract ore and move materials according to the daily mine plan.
  • Adhere to all site safety protocols, including Permit to Work systems, and consistently wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Conduct daily pre-start inspections and report mechanical issues promptly to maintenance teams to prevent equipment failure.
  • Record accurate data on tonnage moved, fuel usage, and operating hours within the digital shift log system.
  • Assist drilling crews by accurately positioning equipment and securing blast zones during explosive operations.
  • Implement dust suppression and spill management measures to comply with environmental regulations and site permits.
  • Provide detailed verbal and written handover reports to incoming shifts regarding production status and safety concerns.
  • Participate in regular emergency drills and respond appropriately to incidents under the direction of site leadership.

Performance Metrics

Success in this role will be measured by adherence to the following key performance indicators:

  • Achieving zero recordable safety incidents or environmental breaches over the assessment period.
  • Meeting 100 percent of individual tonnage and drilling meter targets.
  • Maintaining an equipment availability rate above 90 percent through proactive inspections.
  • Completing all mandatory training modules within the first six months of employment.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in operating at least two distinct types of heavy machinery.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely submission of all shift logs and production reports.

Required Experience and Attributes

Candidates for the Mine Operator position should possess 0-1 years of experience in a mining or heavy equipment operation environment. This role requires a focused professional who can work effectively in shift patterns and consistently prioritize safety in all operational decisions. A strong commitment to adhering to strict HSE standards and contributing to the Kingdom's mining sector growth under Vision 2030 is essential.

Reporting Structure and Work Context

The Mine Operator will report directly to the Mine Shift Supervisor. This position plays a key role in maintaining production targets and equipment reliability within an operational framework that emphasizes rigorous safety protocols and environmental compliance.
