Data Engineering Team Leader

About the Role

Riyad Bank is seeking a Data Engineering Team Leader to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves taking ownership of data on behalf of the business, ensuring data stewardship aligns with the enterprise data management asset model, and leading data initiatives at the divisional level.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the business division's voice in the executive governance committee.
• Ensure data stewardship adheres to the enterprise data management asset model.
• Lead data initiatives at the divisional level and represent the bank's business divisions.
• Understand business division strategies and contribute to bank-wide data strategies, including enterprise data as assets and information management strategies.
• Act as a liaison between business areas and other data management sections.
• Ensure effective implementation of policies and standards for data sources related to the assigned division.

Operational Duties

• Assist in the development and execution of Data Stewardship policies, procedures, and controls for all data sources.
• Perform day-to-day activities, ensuring work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes, and procedures.
• Manage data stewardship at the divisional level, serving as a single point of contact for business data within that division.
• Liaise with business areas to ensure their interests and requirements regarding data are considered.
• Represent the assigned business area for data-related matters, such as data requirements and provisions.
• Represent business units in the Enterprise Data Governance Committee.
• Promote standards and a consistent view of business data.

Knowledge Transfer and Communication

• Educate business units on the importance of data and information in driving business outcomes.
• Supervise relationships with data consumers.
• Direct and guide subordinates on their roles as Enterprise Data Stewards at all levels.

Leadership and Team Management

• Manage the effective achievement of Enterprise Data Steward Unit objectives.
• Lead the Enterprise Data Steward Unit by setting individual objectives, recruiting qualified staff, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, and providing formal and informal feedback and appraisals to maximize subordinate and division performance.
