Role Summary

The Demi Chef de Partie is responsible for the precise preparation and quality control of food items within the kitchen. This role involves executing recipes, maintaining presentation standards, and ensuring efficient communication with both kitchen and Food & Beverage service staff to deliver a high-quality dining experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Prepare and cook food according to established recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
• Prepare special meals, substitute items, and cold foods as required.
• Regulate temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
• Manage the thawing process of food from freezer storage to refrigeration.
• Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and garnishing of all food items.
• Monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food and maintain accurate food logs.
• Communicate effectively with the Chef regarding excess food items for daily specials and with Food & Beverage service staff about menu specials and out-of-stock items.
• Provide assistance as needed during busy periods.
• Anticipate and address guests’ service needs, communicating with clear and professional language.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, supporting team goals and responding appropriately to concerns.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree is preferred.
• At least 3 years of related work experience in a culinary role.
• No supervisory experience is required for this position.

Workplace Standards and Physical Demands

• Adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management; complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance; ensure confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time.
• Capability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
