About the Opportunity

Nahdi Medical Co. is seeking dedicated and experienced Dental Assistants to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires professionals with 5-10 years of experience in dental support, committed to providing comprehensive chairside assistance and clinical support to dentists.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Dental Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting general and specialist dentists across a wide range of clinical and surgical dental procedures. This involves ensuring efficient patient care, maintaining clinical environments, and performing essential supportive functions to facilitate effective dental treatment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during diagnostic, operative, surgical, periodontal, preventive, orthodontic, prosthodontic, endodontic, or pedodontic procedures during examination and treatment of patients.
  • Perform clinical functions including preparing and dismissing patients, point-of-use cleaning of instrumentation, and disinfecting equipment.
  • Provide post-operative instructions to patients as prescribed by the dentist.
  • Maintain supply order and manage applicable patient records accurately.
  • Participate with the dentist in the examination and treatment of patients by retracting cheeks and tissues, and by irrigating and aspirating mouth fluids without harm or discomfort.
  • Anticipate the dentist’s needs and practice four-handed dentistry to provide efficient operative procedures.
  • Perform expanded duty procedures under the direct supervision of the dentist as required.
  • Review patient medical histories, alert the dentist to significant problems, and assist in updating patient records.
  • Accurately chart findings of the patient’s oral conditions as reported by the doctor and record treatment rendered in the patient’s permanent chart.
  • Maintain and periodically review skills learned in First Aid and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
  • Handle medical emergencies until the dentist arrives or assist the dentist in rendering emergency first aid until additional medical help is available.
  • Instruct patients in post-operative home care procedures as directed by the dentist.
  • Perform other miscellaneous related duties as requested to support dental operations.

Experience Requirements

Candidates for this role must possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience as a Dental Assistant, demonstrating a strong understanding of dental procedures and patient care protocols. This experience should include comprehensive chairside assistance across various dental specializations.

Work Environment and Schedule

This is an indoor role, requiring 100% of working hours within a clinical setting. The standard work schedule comprises 6 working days per week, with 1 day off. Daily working hours are 8 net hours, structured according to a shift schedule approved by the head of the department.
