About the Role

Westin is seeking a Dir-Sales I to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves leading and managing daily sales activities with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships to achieve property sales objectives. The role requires 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all day-to-day sales activities, focusing on long-term customer relationships and achieving property sales objectives.
  • Achieve personal booking goals and recommend booking goals for direct reports.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to ensure understanding and effective implementation of sales strategies for the segment.
  • Work with the management team to create and implement a sales plan addressing revenue, customers, and market for the segment.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of internal and external promotions.
  • Provide positive and aggressive leadership to maximize revenue potential, setting an example with personal booking goals.
  • Monitor daily activities of direct reports and approve space release for catering to maximize revenue in the absence of a Business Evaluation Manager.
  • Participate in sales calls with team members to acquire new business and close deals.
  • Execute and support operational aspects of booked business, including generating proposals, writing contracts, and customer correspondence.
  • Analyze market information using sales systems and implement strategies to achieve financial room and catering goals.
  • Assist Revenue Management with accurate six-period projections and review guest satisfaction results to identify areas for improvement.

Customer Service and Relations

  • Display leadership in guest hospitality, exemplify customer service, and create a positive example for guest relations.
  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
  • Meet with guests during pre- and post-convention meetings to gather feedback on product quality, service levels, contract execution, and overall satisfaction.
  • Empower employees to provide excellent customer service and provide feedback on service behaviors.
  • Incorporate guest satisfaction into department meetings with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Execute and support the company’s Customer Service Standards and property’s Brand Standards.
  • Serve customers by understanding their needs, recommending appropriate features and services, and building loyalty.
  • Understand the property’s primary target customer and service expectations to offer better business solutions.

Collaboration and Compliance

  • Develop and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with off-property sales channels (*, Event Booking Center, Market Sales, GSO) to ensure property needs are met and sales efforts are complementary.
  • Work with Human Resources, Engineering, and Loss Prevention to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and/or union requirements.
  • Attend customer events, trade shows, and sales missions to maintain, build, or develop key relationships with GSO Managers and customers.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Interview and hire management and hourly employees with the appropriate skills to meet business needs.
  • Utilize all available on-the-job training tools for employees.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in a sales leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales objectives and manage a sales team.
  • Strong understanding of sales strategies and market analysis.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in sales systems and operational aspects of business booking.
