About the Role

EY is seeking a high-performing Director to join its Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) practice in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This full-time position, based in Riyadh, requires a leader with over 10 years of experience to shape and deliver sustainability and ESG transformation programs for a range of public and private sector organizations.

Key Responsibilities

The Director will be responsible for leading significant sustainability, ESG, climate, and responsible business transformation engagements. This includes serving as a trusted advisor to senior executives and stakeholders, overseeing engagement quality, risk management, and commercial performance. Strategic guidance will be provided on sustainability strategy, ESG governance, climate risk, decarbonization, reporting, and regulatory compliance.

Business development and market expansion for the KSA CCaSS practice are critical. This involves identifying and converting new opportunities, leading proposal development, and building relationships with key clients and partners. Collaboration across service lines and account planning will also be integral to driving revenue growth.

Technical leadership will extend across various focus areas, including:

• Sustainability and ESG strategy
• Climate change and decarbonization
• Sustainability reporting and assurance
• ESG governance and operating models
• Sustainable finance and responsible investment
• Impact assessment and measurement
• Environmental and social advisory programs

Team leadership involves coaching and developing managers and senior managers, contributing to talent development and recruitment, and building a high-performing sustainability team. Collaboration with MENA and global sustainability teams is also expected.

The role also encompasses thought leadership, including representing EY at industry events, contributing to market insights and publications, and supporting the development of innovative sustainability solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 12–15+ years of relevant professional experience, with significant experience in sustainability, ESG, climate change, public sector transformation, strategy consulting, or environmental advisory. A proven track record in leading complex consulting engagements, managing senior client relationships, and demonstrated business development and sales experience with revenue generation responsibility are essential.

A Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Economics, Business, Public Policy, Finance, or a related discipline is required. A Master's degree is preferred. Professional sustainability credentials such as GRI, ISSB, SASB/FSA, TCFD, GHG Protocol, CFA ESG, or LEED are desirable.
