The Director will lead the development, integration, and evaluation of NF strategic plans, capacity-building efforts, and athlete development programs, fostering inter-federation collaboration and driving governance improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the alignment of NF strategies with SOPC’s long-term objectives, ensuring coherence across performance targets, governance priorities, and developmental outcomes.
  • Provide leadership in guiding NFs through strategic planning processes, ensuring programs are athlete-centered, results-driven, and internationally benchmarked.
  • Serve as the lead advisor on NF development to SOPC leadership, contributing to national-level sport planning, policy input, and institutional collaboration.
  • Oversee the strategic direction and effectiveness of athlete development pathways implemented by NFs, aligning with SOPC’s High Performance and Talent ID goals.
  • Facilitate coordination between NFs, SOTC, and international federations to ensure continuity across training, competitions, and elite transitions.
  • Lead the design and implementation of an integrated performance monitoring system for all NFs, including KPIs, benchmarking, and continuous review protocols.
  • Identify capacity gaps and drive structured improvement initiatives in NF governance, compliance, and operational maturity.
  • Act as a strategic interface between SOPC and NFs, maintaining strong institutional relationships and enabling two-way communication on priorities and challenges.
  • Work cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Technical Advisory, and PMO teams to ensure NF initiatives are compliant, resourced, and on-track.
  • Lead the consolidation and presentation of federation performance reports and strategic insights to SOPC’s senior leadership.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic oversight and performance management, preferably within a sports federation or similar organizational context.
  • Proven ability to lead strategic planning processes and drive program development.
  • Experience in implementing performance monitoring systems and improving governance frameworks.

Stakeholder Engagement

The role requires strong capabilities in stakeholder engagement, including representing SOPC in multi-federation forums, regional working groups, and international development collaborations. The Director will provide coaching, mentorship, and resource guidance to NF leaders to elevate professionalism and operational independence.
