Role Overview: Director, Infrastructure - Power & Utilities

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Director, Infrastructure - Power & Utilities, to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role requires 5-10 years of experience and involves leading the day-to-day delivery of major workstreams or smaller engagements. The Director will serve as the senior client counterpart on the ground, driving project progress and providing direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the daily execution of major workstreams or smaller engagements, acting as the primary client contact.
• Structure complex problems, define analytical approaches, and guide teams to clear solutions across areas such as capital projects, operational performance, utility transformation, market and regulatory issues, and investment decisions.
• Manage asset and portfolio work spanning generation, transmission, distribution, renewables, storage, water and desalination, data centers (digital infrastructure), cooling, waste, and integrated utility systems, ensuring the connection between technical performance and economic outcomes is maintained.
• Develop robust fact bases, business cases, benchmarks, value bridges, and implementation plans that clearly outline financial and operational implications.
• Translate findings into actionable steps, which may include delivery governance, PMO or control-tower disciplines, operational improvements, contract and claims actions, or value-capture tracking.
• Maintain close client relationships, lead working sessions and steering meetings, manage difficult conversations effectively, and produce concise materials that clarify decisions and next actions.
• Identify follow-on needs, develop proposals, create client-specific points of view, and actively contribute to account plans and pursuits to generate new work.
• Integrate A&M specialists and external experts into projects as needed, ensuring clients receive a unified solution rather than disparate work products.
• Oversee project quality, scope, schedule, team performance, and engagement economics. Coach Managers and junior team members, and contribute to the ongoing development of the Power & Utilities practice.

Experience and Qualifications

• 5-10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver complex engagements.
• Experience in capital projects, operational performance, utility transformation, market and regulatory analysis, and investment decisions within the power and utilities sector.
• Proficiency in building business cases, benchmarks, and implementation plans.
