Job Description
About the Role
WSP in the Middle East is seeking an experienced Drainage Engineer for a significant road and highway project in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional with over 10 years of experience dedicated to the design and supervision of complex drainage systems, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review detailed designs for road and highway drainage infrastructure.
- Conduct hydraulic and hydrologic analyses using industry-standard software.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant local, national, and international standards and regulations.
- Supervise the on-site construction and implementation of drainage systems.
- Oversee contractor performance to ensure adherence to project specifications and quality benchmarks.
- Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, and other engineering disciplines for integrated drainage solutions.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to verify quality and safety compliance.
- Address and resolve construction-related issues and discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare and review project reports, documentation, and as-built drawings.
- Liaise with clients, government authorities, and stakeholders on drainage concerns and requirements.
- Present design proposals and project updates to clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure drainage designs are environmentally sustainable and meet all applicable environmental regulations.
- Implement best practices for stormwater management and pollution control.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in drainage engineering, with a specific focus on road and highway projects.
- Proven experience in the supervision and management of drainage construction projects.
- Extensive knowledge of hydraulic and hydrologic analysis software, such as HEC-RAS, SWMM, and Civil 3D.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.

Professional Recognition
A Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable for this role.
