About the Role

EXP Arabia is seeking a versatile and experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional with 5-10 years of experience in electrical design, contributing to the firm's legacy of over 100 years in multidisciplinary engineering design and supervisory consulting.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce working Revit MEP and CAD drawings/models.
• Visualize systems in 3D and utilize clash detection software.
• Prepare electrical floor plans detailing device layouts, circuitry, and equipment with minimal engineer input.
• Perform overcurrent coordination studies using SKM Powertools.
• Develop electrical system designs, reports, and deliverables from concept through construction documents.
• Prepare one-line diagrams with engineer input.
• Calculate electrical loads and prepare panel schedules.
• Conduct code research to ensure compliance with building codes, NFPA, and Energy Codes.
• Demonstrate knowledge of lighting, photometrics, and lighting controls.
• Apply concepts of voltage drop and conductor sizing.
• Edit electrical specifications to align with project requirements, with engineer input.
• Layout fire alarm devices on floor plans.
• Contribute to equipment room sizing and layouts during the schematic design phase.
• Provide limited direction to junior engineers or interns.
• Select and schedule equipment with minimal engineer oversight.
• Meet with vendors to understand specification requirements for various applications.
• Participate in field verification and take-offs for renovation projects.
• Coordinate space and utility requirements with other disciplines, including plumbing, mechanical, architectural, and structural teams.
• Maintain discipline engineering calculations and equipment selections for projects.
• Maintain general awareness of risk management procedures to minimize exposure for EXP and clients.

Qualifications and Experience

• 4-8 years of experience in Electrical Design within Saudi Arabia.
• A degree in Electrical Engineering from a reputable institution.
• Active membership in the Saudi Council of Engineers.
• Proficiency in CAD software; Revit experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in electrical design software.

• Appropriate written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional presentation in both internal and external settings, including attire, engagement, and meeting preparation.
• Demonstrated presentation skills through technical presentations and white papers.
• Active participation in voluntary training opportunities, such as vendor lunch and learns, including engagement and asking questions.
