Electrical Procurement Engineer (Substations / OHTL)

About the Role

Trading and Development Partnership is seeking an Electrical Procurement Engineer (Substations / OHTL) to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role is responsible for the procurement of electrical materials and equipment for power projects, including substations, overhead transmission lines (OHTL), and underground cable (UGC) systems. The position focuses on ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and adherence to project specifications and industry standards.

Role Overview

The Electrical Procurement Engineer manages the complete procurement lifecycle for critical electrical components and systems. This involves close collaboration with engineering, project, and construction teams to align procurement activities with technical requirements and project timelines. The role is central to maintaining supply chain efficiency and compliance within large-scale power infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement activities for electrical components and systems used in power projects.
• Prepare Requests for Quotation (RFQs), analyze vendor offers, and conduct techno-commercial evaluations.
• Source and procure materials such as transformers, switchgear, cables, conductors, insulators, towers, protection systems, and associated accessories.
• Coordinate closely with engineering, project, and construction teams to understand technical requirements and project timelines.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contract terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Ensure all procured materials comply with project specifications, international standards (IEC, IEEE), and client requirements.
• Identify and develop reliable vendors for long-term partnerships.
• Monitor supplier performance and manage expediting activities to ensure on-time delivery.
• Review and approve vendor drawings, datasheets, and technical documentation in coordination with engineering teams.
• Handle procurement documentation, purchase orders, and contract administration.
• Track market trends, pricing, and supply risks related to electrical equipment.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in electrical procurement.
• Experience working in EPC companies or large-scale power projects.
• Knowledge of local and international suppliers in the power sector.

Location and Work Type

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role requires engagement with various project stakeholders and suppliers within the power sector.
