About the Role

Petrolube Oil Company is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role requires 5-10 years of experience and focuses on ensuring the reliability and accuracy of electrical and instrumentation systems within production facilities.

The Electrical Technician is responsible for scheduling and executing maintenance activities for instrumentation and electrical control systems, performing in-house instrument calibration, and diagnosing problems related to instruments in filling lines. The role also provides essential maintenance support across production areas such as Filling and Blending.

Maintenance and Compliance

  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental procedures during all maintenance activities.
  • Ensure legal compliance in maintenance practices, contractor management, and documentation.
  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules for instruments to ensure reliability and accuracy, aiming for minimum downtime.
  • Oversee predictive maintenance techniques, including vibration analysis and thermography.
  • Troubleshoot critical electrical problems and fix breakdowns in plant equipment.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to identify and correct the root cause of breakdowns.
  • Focus on reducing the "6 big losses" and "Top 5 downtime" to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through enhanced availability and performance.

System Management and Improvement

  • Provide technical electrical support to the maintenance department for project assignments.
  • Initiate projects aimed at improving machine control systems to reduce downtime.
  • Modify equipment as necessary to enhance capacity, quality, and safe operation.
  • Prepare the annual calibration plan for plant instruments in the QA format, maintain records, and ensure audit readiness.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and repair needs, ensuring compliance with relevant codes.

Operational Support and Training

  • Train production team members on the precise operation of blending and filling equipment.
  • Drive sustainable maintenance practices by optimizing energy usage and reducing emissions from assets.
  • Collaborate on ESG compliance reporting related to maintenance activities.

Core Objectives and Challenges

A primary objective of this role is to ensure continuous equipment availability for uninterrupted production. A key challenge involves preventing equipment breakdowns effectively, given available resources and potential limitations in spare parts. The role requires creativity in predicting potential breakdowns before they occur and resolving them without interrupting production, while also modifying equipment for extended lifespan and optimal performance.

Required Experience
