The National Medical Care Company (Care) is a healthcare provider operating a network of hospitals and clinics. Based in Riyadh, the company is dedicated to delivering comprehensive medical services and maintaining high standards of patient care across its facilities, including Riyadh Care Hospital.

Role Overview: Encoder Supervisor, Billing and Data Entry

The Encoder Supervisor provides essential administrative support and oversees billing and inpatient accounts. This contract role involves critical coordination with medical, nursing, and medical approval sections to secure sufficient financial coverage for services rendered at Riyadh Care Hospital. The supervisor ensures accuracy and compliance in all billing and data entry processes within NMC Hospitals and Clinics.

Core Billing and Financial Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate patient and procedure identification prior to billing any services.
  • Monitor patient financial contributions, deposited amounts, and insurance approvals before procedures during inpatient stays.
  • Identify and correct billing errors promptly.
  • Verify that implants and supplies are billed in patient invoices with correct codes and prices.
  • Address and resolve open and halted cases in a timely manner to maintain financial integrity.
  • Update patient accounts before discharge with correct codes, approvals, or sufficient deposits.
  • Collect patient portions for excluded services and during discharges.
  • Monitor daily staff remittances to the main cashier.

Team Leadership and Operational Oversight

  • Ensure a superior quality of medical treatment, compassion, and understanding is provided to every patient served.
  • Prepare staffing plans, manpower plans, vacation schedules, and monthly schedules on time.
  • Arrange 24/7 coverage for critical areas such as Emergency, Labor and Delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital dress code for all staff within the encoder section.
  • Educate staff on new billing methodologies, packages, codes, and updates from business or corporate offices.
  • Inform staff regarding updates in third-party insurance contracts and pricelists.
  • Initiate performance improvement plans, cost reduction, and revenue enhancement strategies for inpatient billing.
  • Report department performance frequently to the head of department.
  • Ensure telephone calls are answered promptly and courteously, with accurate and complete messages relayed within the department.
  • Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Required Experience

Candidates for this position must possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role within a healthcare billing or data entry environment.
