About the Role

The National Medical Care Company (Care) is seeking a dedicated Encoder for a full-time position in Riyadh. This role provides essential administrative support to a department, encompassing the reception of samples, accurate charging of laboratory services, typing, telephone reception duties, filing, and photocopying. The Encoder plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of daily administrative and laboratory support functions, contributing to patient care quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure, through direct or indirect actions, a superior quality of medical treatment, compassion, and understanding for every patient served at Riyadh Care Hospital.
  • Receive and accurately log blood samples and other specimens for analysis, facilitating their transport to different sections of the laboratory.
  • Enter and charge all requested laboratory services for patients into the laboratory order entry system, verifying correct billing procedures.
  • Update daily laboratory tests requested for in-patient requests and provide financial clearance for patient discharge without delay.
  • Prepare necessary forms for send-out tests and obtain required approvals from concerned signatories.
  • Check and segregate daily laboratory results for company patients for daily revenue reports, submitting copies to the Finance department for insurance collection purposes.
  • Retrieve patient files as requested by laboratory doctors to support diagnostic processes.
  • Perform photocopying tasks, collate copies, and distribute documents as required.
  • Execute other applicable administrative tasks and duties assigned within the scope of the employee’s knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Reporting Structure

The Encoder reports directly to the Chief Technologist, Senior Data Encoder, and the Department Head. This position does not hold any supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Graduate of any 4-year course.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of recent experience working in an office environment is required.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Required Skills

  • Working knowledge of computer skills.

Work Type and Location

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, contributing to the administrative and operational efficiency of the National Medical Care Company (Care).
