About the Procurement Engineer Role

alfanar is seeking a Procurement Engineer with 2-5 years of experience to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves executing core procurement activities, including sourcing, contracting, and supplier development, alongside purchasing necessary materials, services, and assets. The role requires ensuring that all procured items meet the right specifications, price, quality, and delivery timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute procurement activities encompassing sourcing, contracting, and supplier development.
  • Purchase requested materials, services, assets, MRO, and general items, ensuring adherence to specifications, price, quality, and delivery requirements.
  • Develop and evaluate suppliers to achieve cost savings, improve delivery performance, and enhance material quality.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and establish development plans.
  • Visit suppliers for prequalification, evaluation, and development, strengthening business partnerships in coordination with commodity heads and business unit quality teams.
  • Execute sourcing and contracting plans aligned with the company's sourcing strategy.
  • Maximize the number of contracted items with approved suppliers to secure favorable pricing, delivery, payment terms, and quality, while reducing purchasing cycle times.
  • Ensure commercial, legal, and contractual compliance in all procurement transactions.
  • Process purchase requests by understanding detailed requirements and coordinating with requesters and technical teams.
  • Manage the execution of purchase requests by processing RFx from approved supplier lists.
  • Negotiate purchase conditions, focusing on specifications, delivery time, and cost elements.
  • Initiate alternative material specifications based on market availability, involving relevant technical teams.
  • Compare quotations based on approved forms, considering landed cost and delivery terms.
  • Identify selected suppliers and issue Purchase Orders (POs) through the system.
  • Ensure POs include all required attached documents and follow the internal approval matrix.
  • Send approved POs to suppliers and track order acknowledgments.
  • Monitor PO delivery schedules with suppliers and relevant departments until materials arrive and the order is closed.
  • Maintain vendor master information and ensure its accuracy.
  • Manage non-conformity processes for rejected materials and lead corrective actions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 4 to 6 years of work experience in procurement or a related field.
