The Role: Procurement Engineer (Civil & Structural)

We are seeking a Procurement Engineer (Civil & Structural) to join our team for a significant road project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position focused on managing procurement activities for civil and structural components within the project scope.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement activities for civil and structural materials, equipment, and subcontract packages in accordance with project schedules and specifications.
  • Review technical specifications, drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and material requisitions to ensure accurate procurement planning.
  • Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs), evaluate technical and commercial proposals, and participate in supplier negotiations.
  • Coordinate with engineering, planning, construction, and commercial teams to identify procurement priorities and project requirements.
  • Conduct technical bid evaluations and ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Source and prequalify suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors for concrete, steel structures, precast elements, reinforcement, aggregates, and other civil works materials.
  • Monitor procurement schedules and ensure timely delivery of materials and services to meet project milestones.
  • Track procurement status, supplier performance, and delivery progress, providing regular reports to project management.
  • Review material submittals, technical datasheets, certifications, and compliance documentation prior to procurement approval.
  • Support value engineering initiatives and identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality and project requirements.
  • Coordinate logistics, expediting activities, inspections, and material approval processes.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company procedures, project policies, and contract requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience as a Procurement Engineer, specifically with a focus on civil and structural materials and projects. A detail-oriented approach and strong technical understanding are essential for success in this position.
