Matar Al-Baqami Holding is seeking a Procurement Engineer to join its team in Dammam, Eastern Province. This full-time position is crucial for managing procurement activities within our fabrication facility, supporting Saudi Aramco and other Oil & Gas projects.

The Role of Procurement Engineer

The Procurement Engineer will oversee the complete procurement cycle, from supplier sourcing and commercial negotiations to purchase order management, expediting, and logistics coordination. This role ensures the timely delivery of materials essential for production and project execution, adhering to Saudi Aramco and international standards. The successful candidate will play a key part in supporting the manufacturing of various critical components.

Core Responsibilities

  • Source and procure materials, equipment, and services for Saudi Aramco fabrication projects.
  • Identify and develop reliable local and international suppliers, obtaining competitive quotations and negotiating terms.
  • Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) in accordance with company procedures and project specifications.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Aramco-approved vendors, evaluating their performance based on quality, delivery, and pricing.
  • Coordinate closely with Engineering, QA/QC, Planning, Production, and Project Management teams.
  • Review Material Requisitions (MR), Bill of Materials (BOM), and technical specifications.
  • Monitor procurement schedules, expedite suppliers, and resolve procurement-related technical and commercial issues.
  • Ensure procurement documentation is complete, traceable, and compliant with Saudi Aramco specifications (*, SAMSS, IR Form, SAEP, ASME codes).
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and market analysis.

Key Procurement Areas

The Procurement Engineer will be responsible for procuring a wide range of materials and components, including but not limited to:

  • Pressure Vessel materials, Heat Exchanger components, and Shell & Tube Heat Exchanger materials.
  • Structural Steel, Stainless Steel, and Carbon Steel plates.
  • Pipes, fittings, flanges, valves, and instrumentation items.
  • Welding consumables, fabrication tools, and production consumables.
  • Mechanical equipment, spare parts, and Electrical and instrumentation materials.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in procurement, specifically for Saudi Aramco and Oil & Gas projects.
  • Extensive experience procuring materials and services for the manufacturing of Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers, Structural Steel, Process Equipment, HVAC, and Piping Systems.
  • Hands-on experience within Pressure Vessel, Heat Exchanger, and Skids manufacturing companies is required.
  • Strong knowledge of the Saudi market, Aramco-approved suppliers, and fabrication industry procurement practices.
  • Proficiency in ensuring compliance with Saudi Aramco specifications such as SAMSS, IR Form, SAEP, Inspection Requirements, PIM, and ASME codes.

This is a full-time position based in Dammam, Eastern Province, requiring a professional who can thrive in a dynamic fabrication facility environment. The role involves close collaboration with various internal departments to ensure project success and operational efficiency.
