About the Role

alfanar, a company operating construction and manufacturing businesses, design & development centers, and facilities across the Middle East and other regions, is seeking an ENGINEER, TESTING & COMMI. WEST. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires 0-1 years of experience.

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to commission and conduct tests on power plants prior to their operational phase, ensuring all systems function correctly and meet required standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute site testing and commissioning activities for substations or power plants.
• Perform testing and commissioning of substation equipment, including various types of relays, switchgear, and transformers.
• Conduct functional testing according to the specified scheme and coordinate activities during customer inspections.
• Resolve technical issues encountered during power plant testing and site commissioning.
• Prepare project and new equipment test reports, including necessary updates and corrections.
• Document non-conformances and troubleshoot identified issues.
• Adhere to all safety procedures during testing and commissioning processes.
• Provide technical support by reviewing design documents before their release.

Role Accountabilities

• Team Leadership and Development: Train subordinates, form effective teams, provide leadership, coaching, and direction, and delegate assignments fairly to maintain team morale and motivation.
• Delivery and Performance: Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets according to delivery schedules, utilizing resources effectively for cost and time efficiency, and providing periodic reports on deviations and task execution.
• Problem Solving: Resolve related problems as they arise and escalate complex operational issues when necessary.
• Process Improvement: Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, and procedures, and identify opportunities for automation.
• Compliance: Comply with all related policies, procedures, and work instructions.
