About the Project and Role

Bechtel Corporation is managing the infrastructure program for Expo 2030 Riyadh, a global platform promoting sustainable development and innovation. The Expo, themed "Foresight for Tomorrow," will run from October 2030 to March 2031, expecting over 40 million visits. The 6 km2 Masterplan includes exhibition space, utilities, and public areas, transitioning into a mixed-use legacy development. As an Engineering Manager (Mobility Manager), you will lead a team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, focusing on mobility and transportation packages for this full-time role.

Role Overview

In this position, you will lead a team of design managers and multiple client-appointed consultants. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate the planning, design, review, integration, and stakeholder management of various mobility and transportation packages. This includes traffic impact studies, mobility systems, roads and highways, public transport operations, pedestrian and crowd movement systems, and supporting civil infrastructure. Your technical guidance will ensure all engineering aspects meet project requirements, scope, and budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report to the Engineering Director and interface with the Project Manager and Client technical leadership.
  • Develop engineering capabilities, implement project delivery standards, oversee technical governance, and ensure alignment with best engineering practices and local regulatory requirements.
  • Manage complex engineering assignments within the overall project.
  • Assume full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments.
  • Review major changes or deviations in project scope, material quantities, budget, or schedule, assisting with defining changes, obtaining accurate estimates, and recommending budget adjustments.
  • Coordinate engineering efforts with Project Manager, Procurement, Construction, Startup, Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H), and Project Controls.
  • Manage several multidisciplinary consultants concurrently, overseeing design quality and compliance, leading design reviews, and managing comments close-out.
  • Act as the single point of contact for issues under responsibility with designers, the Client, operators, and authorities.
  • Lead design workshops and stage-gate reviews, managing design risks and changes.
  • Control scope, schedule, and resources, tracking actions, deliverables, and approvals.
  • Present technical recommendations to management and support client decision-making processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in engineering management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate complex engineering projects.
  • Strong technical understanding of mobility and transportation systems.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, supporting the Expo 2030 Riyadh project. The role involves working collaboratively with a diverse team, clients, and external consultants in a dynamic project environment.
