About AECOM and the Role

AECOM, a global infrastructure consulting firm dedicated to delivering innovative solutions, is seeking an Environmental Engineer to join its dynamic team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is open to candidates with 0-1 year of experience and offers a direct opportunity to contribute to significant environmental projects and sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support environmental projects, including those focused on contaminated sediments, soil and groundwater remediation, environmental compliance, and Environmental Social and Governance (ESG)/Sustainability initiatives.
  • Conduct technical analysis and develop deliverables for remedial investigations, feasibility studies, remedial design, and remedial action, working under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Plan and direct field activities for data collection, encompassing sampling of soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, and air.
  • Perform environmental site assessments, site investigation, characterization, and environmental remediation activities.
  • Conduct fate and transport modeling and implement innovative sampling approaches.
  • Manage and organize field data collection, data management, and documentation with precision and accuracy.
  • Operate and maintain environmental monitoring and remediation equipment and systems.

Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting

The Environmental Engineer will maintain positive working relationships with clients, contractors, engineering consultants, regulatory agencies, and external stakeholders. A core aspect of this position involves preparing comprehensive technical reports and environmental documentation to support project objectives and regulatory requirements.

Regulatory Compliance and Oversight

This role requires ensuring strict compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocols throughout all project activities. The engineer will also assist in directing subcontractors and provide basic supervisory oversight as needed to ensure project execution aligns with established standards and guidelines.

Professional Development

The position encourages coordination with regional and national experts and active participation in technical practice groups. The Environmental Engineer is expected to pursue continuous professional development to enhance skills and stay current with industry advancements.
