The Role of Environmental Specialist

Egis is seeking an Environmental Specialist to join its team in Riyadh. This permanent contract position involves analyzing environmental aspects of infrastructure projects and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The specialist will play a key role in preparing documentation for environmental permits and providing technical support to design teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze environmental aspects related to infrastructure projects under development.
  • Participate in preparing documentation for environmental permits, approvals, and authorizations.
  • Contribute to the development of project presentation reports, technical documentation for environmental permitting, specialized environmental studies, and environmental sections of technical design documentation.
  • Identify potential environmental impacts and propose prevention, mitigation, or compensation measures.
  • Assess technical solutions from an environmental protection perspective.
  • Provide technical support to design teams regarding applicable environmental requirements.
  • Conduct site visits and field surveys to collect information for environmental documentation.
  • Cooperate with environmental experts, consultants, and competent authorities.
  • Monitor compliance with conditions established by permits and regulatory documents.
  • Prepare documentation for submission to relevant authorities.
  • Participate in meetings and technical sessions with clients and permitting authorities.
  • Respond to requests for clarifications and additional information from authorities.
  • Follow up on the status of environmental permits and approvals.
  • Monitor legislative changes in environmental protection.
  • Inform management and project teams about applicable legal requirements and obligations.
  • Propose compliance measures and internal process improvements.
  • Prepare technical reports and activity updates for assigned projects.
  • Ensure proper recording, filing, and archiving of environmental documentation.
  • Provide information, data, and technical input to management and clients.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental management or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze environmental aspects of infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in preparing documentation for environmental permits and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong understanding of environmental protection legislation and requirements.

This is a Permanent Contract position based in Riyadh.
